Mesa HOA Academy: Budgets
The Mesa HOA Academy provides Mesa residents with the education and information they need to understand the various aspects of HOA membership. The Academy is a series of classes held over six weeks, and interested parties must apply through the City of Mesa.

As a business, your HOA’s success depends in part on the fiscal management of the HOA’s assets. Fiduciary responsibilities, reserve amounts, budgets and audits are covered by specialists in the homeowner association profession.

Selecting a Management Company and Other Vendors is a class that teaches the steps in selection a management company and other important vendors who work for the association (landscape companies, pool maintenance, etc.), how to determine specifications, request bids, review and analyze bids and make the final selections.

Community Mediation Service, a program of The Leadership Centre is pleased to offer our popular 40-Hour Basic Mediation certification class in April of 2009! This certification course is a week long, intensive session designed to enhance the participants’ problem-solving abilities, interpersonal interactions and communication skills. In this highly interactive, hands-on training, participants learn the principles and practices of dispute resolution and have the opportunity for applied practice in facilitation, negotiation and consensus building! The skills learned in this training are useful for people of all career areas or volunteer interests, and have been shown to greatly improve participant’s daily interactions! In addition, participants successfully completing the Solve-It! 40-Hour Basic Mediation training are certified to become volunteer mediators with the East Valley Justice Courts as well as with The Leadership Centre! Pre-registration is required. Registration fees are $650 per participant or $599 if registered 10 days in advance. All refreshments and training materials are provided.
